On the Regent's Canal, London
There are boat trips from the museum on selected dates only. On Children's Activity Days all children and their carers can enjoy a short boat trip. On the second and fourth Sunday of the months May to October we offer a programme of tunnel boat trips. We have a big programme of trips for family groups only on the nearest weekend to Halloween. At other times, you can take a pleasant walk along the towpath, (see walking tours) or catch a frequent local bus, to board a boat at Camden for the regular summer service to Little Venice, Paddington.
There are three boat companies:
- Walkers operate the trip boat Jenny Wren several times per day, from just below Hampstead Road Lock. Entrance on the main road. This trip is the only trip to include a passage through a lock in each direction
- Jason's Trip is the oldest name in the business locally and the narrowboat Jason runs trips several times per day in summer. Departs from just above Hampstead Road Lock. Jasons provide a historical commentary.
- London Waterbus Company operates a fleet of boats and offers an hourly service or better on busy days and limited winter services at weekends. Departs from the little basin in the market, just above Hamstead Road Lock
