How to Find Us
By Train
Directions from the four stations:
- Euston. Bus 91 comes to Wharfdale Road, close to us, but you can walk in about 15 minutes, along the Euston Road and then turn left immediately after King's Cross station.
- St. Pancras. Trains from Paris, Sheffield, Brighton, Luton, Dover, Canturbury, Leicster and many other places arrive here. If you come out of the main exit on Pancras Road (facing King's Cross) we suggest walking to the left along the pedestrian route King's Boulevard until you reach the canal where you can turn right into Goods Way. Look for the finger-post signs. Walk the length of Goods Way until you reach York Way. Turn right (follow the brown signs) and then left into Wharfdale Road, then second left into New Wharf Road. It will take about 10 minutes. If you find yourself on Euston Road, the main road south of the station, walk along to King's Cross and follow directions from there.
- Caledonian Road and Barnsbury station is on the North London Line (London Overground). Trains from Clapham Junction, Kensington Olympia, Richmond, Stratford, Acton, Camden, Hackney. Turn left as you leave the station on the main road and keep walking until you take the first on the right after the canal (All Saints Street). At the end of All Saints Street, you can see the museum.
- King's Cross Follow York Way, northbound, on the east side of King's Cross main line station. At the end of the station buildings turn right into Wharfdale Road, then take the second on the left, New Wharf Road. Do look out for the brown signs.
By Bus
There are many routes that serve King's Cross. London buses are wheelchair-accessible. Routes 17 and 91 (northbound), 390 (southbound) serve Wharfdale Road, just a two-minute walk away. If you arrive at King's Cross follow the directions from the station.
By Boat
By Bike
If you bring your own bike, free storage inside the building is normally possible during your visit. Just ask at reception. If you arrive on a Santander Cycle Hire bike, dock the cycle in Killick Street, just off Wharfdale Road, or at the corner of Crinnan Street and York Way. We are shown on the map at the docking stations.
By Car
Parking is very difficult on Mondays to Fridays. There are a few meters in surrounding streets and a car park at St. Pancras Station. On Saturdays after 1330, weekdays after 1830, and on Sundays all day, you can part in New Wharf Road and surrounding streets free of charge and there is usually ample space. There is an electric vehicle charging point in Wynford Road, close to the museum, operated by Source London
